GHRP-6 Description:

Growth hormone-releasing peptide 6 (GHRP-6) (developmental code name SKF-110679), also known as growth hormone-releasing hexapeptide, is one of several synthetic met-enkephalin analogues that include unnatural D-amino acids, were developed for their growth hormone-releasing activity and are called growth hormone secretagogues. They lack opioid activity but are potent stimulators of growth hormone (GH) release. These secretagogues are distinct from growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) in that they share no sequence relation and derive their function through activation of a completely different receptor. This receptor was originally called the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR), but due to subsequent discoveries, the hormone ghrelin is now considered the receptor's natural endogenous ligand, and it has been renamed as the ghrelin receptor. Therefore, these GHSR agonists act as synthetic ghrelin mimetics.

It has been discovered that when GHRP-6 and insulin are administered simultaneously, GH response to GHRP-6 is increased. However, the consumption of carbohydrates and/or dietary fats, around the administration window of GH secretagogues significantly blunts the GH release. A recent study in normal mice showed significant differences in body composition, muscle growth, glucose metabolism, memory and cardiac function in the mice being administered the GHRP-6. There are still many questions regarding this fairly new compound, scientists are hoping to gain a better clinical understanding of the peptide through further research over the next few years.

GH secretagogues differ from exogenous rHGH in their effects primarily because endogenous GH contains all five isoforms of growth hormone, whereas exogenous GH contains only the 20 kilodalton isoform. Different isoforms affect tissues in discreet ways that the 20 kDa isoform cannot. Administration of GH secretagogues causes a pulse-release of GH from the pituitary which is cleared from the body within a few hours. This does not significantly raise plasma insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels.

Effects of GHRP-6:

The effects of GHRP-6 run very deep, but if you are looking for a single performance enhancing item this is not the one for you. GHRP-6 can provide performance enhancing benefits; however, it will not at a significant rate when used alone. This peptide will show far greater benefits when used as part of a long-term anti-aging plan (Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)) or in conjunction with other medications used to enhance performance.

For the athlete or bodybuilder, GHRP-6 may be used in conjunction with Mod GRF 1-29 in lieu of HGH use. HGH will produce far greater results for the athlete, but the GHRP-6/Mod GRF 1-29 will only cost a fraction of HGH.

The off-season athlete should be able to make increased gains in size with GHRP-6 use as elevated levels of GH will have an anabolic effect as well as help enhance the effectiveness of other drugs used, such as anabolic steroids. The athlete will also find his body fat increases at a slower or lesser rate than without, as elevated levels of GH will increase the metabolic rate. However, when used alone the individual should not expect any more growth than he would have had he not included the hormone.

GHRP-6 may be far more useful to the athlete during a cutting or dieting phase, but again only with a compound like Mod GRF 1-29 being used with it. The increased metabolism will help him lose more fat; in fact, fat loss should be far more significant with than without. Recovery should also be greatly improved. Recovery is important when bulking or cutting but can become far more difficult when dieting due to the necessary calorie restrictions. Some men may, however, find the compound does increase their appetite so heavily that dieting becomes all the more arduous. However, this increase in hunger is not guaranteed nor is it assured to occur at the same level in each individual. Appetite or hunger related effects are highly dependent on the individual, and with a well-planned diet most should not have an issue.

GHRP-6 Doses for Performance and Physique Enhancement:

It is both impractical and impossible to categorize GHRP-6 doses into the typical three tiers of users (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) due to the inherent nature of the type of substance and hormone. The saturation doses of GHRP-6 should elicit significant increases in HGH levels in the body in a pulsatile manner that is adequate enough to ensure any performance and physique enhancing goals desired by any individual. The difference in which goals might be more attainable than others is the frequency of dosing. GHRP-6 exhibits a varying half-life of approximately 15 - 60 minutes after injection, and will stimulate a large pulse of HGH from the pituitary gland that will last several hours but is most intense and achieves its peak at approximately 30 minutes. Therefore, in order to simulate higher and steadier blood plasma levels of HGH, it is necessary to administer GHRP-6 doses multiple times daily (depending on the user’s goals).

As a result, a general guideline for the purpose of achieving performance and physique enhancement is that of 100mcg administered three times per day. Each injection should be spaced evenly apart in order to achieve substantial HGH levels throughout the day due to the short half-life of GHRP-6 as well as the pulsatile manner of the HGH release that it causes. Other studies have gone so far as to explicitly state that GHRP-6 requires GHRH in order to stimulate maximal HGH stimulation as evidenced by the fact that in test subjects, the inclusion of a GHRH can increase HGH output by an additional 81 - 95%.

In general summary of the synergistic effect of both: a GHRH analogue (such as Mod GRF 1-29) will serve to initiate and carry forward the pulse of HGH from the pituitary gland, while the GHRP (such as GHRP-6) will serve to amplify this pulse.
